The new K Paper Thin Crashes are a perfect example of Zildjian's capabilities - giving nods to the most resonant moments of their 400-year history, being at the forefront of innovation in cymbals, and rewarding the trust of drummers around the world.
Zildjian brought Paper Thin cymbals to market back in the 1950s. After a continuous evaluation of more than 70 years of cymbal trends and musical needs that still exist today, the result is a phenomenal response to the long-standing demand of many drummers for the return of these cymbals. Thanks to new developments in Zildjian's R&D team, this new series joins the iconic K Family with 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22-inch crashes that combine the popular Paper Thin qualities with the features unique to larger cymbal sizes.
The equally strong and lightweight K Paper Thin cymbals offer an explosive, dark crash with fast decay and a buttery smooth stick feel. A key feature is a redesigned three-step hammering process that unlocks flexibility and sonic nuances that contribute to the unique sound of these crashes. The very thin profiles provide extra shimmer when crashing, delivering a low-end resonance not found anywhere else in the K-family.
