This Yamaha CS is based on vintage synthesizers such as the CS01 and the legendary CS80. The CS is virtual analog and has a polyphony of eight. Among other things, there is an ADSR envelope that you can route to amplitude and filter. There is an LFO with depth and speed that you can also freely route. The oscillator has five waveforms (updateable with the Texture slider - for example PWM).
The synthesis model used is simple and very accessible to the beginning keyboardist. The CS has a thick effects section, consisting of distortion, chorus/flanger, phaser and delay, which really makes the sounds sound a lot cooler! This Reface is great for a wide variety of music styles such as EDM, progressive rock and synthpop. Its mini size makes it ideal for bands that travel a lot and are tired of lugging it around! If you still want a larger keyboard, you can connect it to the MIDI connection.
Via USB you connect this device to the computer; the mini-DIN MIDI connection you use in combination with the included MIDI breakout cable which ultimately gives you a real MIDI in/out. The synth has no presets, but a new sound is easy to create! You use the aux-in if you want to play along with your tablet or phone (or other media player), for example.
