The Vic Firth 7A, along with the 5A and 5B, is one of the most widely used sticks. Being thin and light, it is often preferred by drummers who play lightly and controlled. Not the best choice for the hard-hitter perhaps, simply because the stick cannot take as much of a beating as a thicker stick can. Also, the 7A from Vic Firth is a bit shorter compared to the standard of 5A sized stick and therefore you have slightly less reach with a 7A.
Hickory is a hard, strong wood and therefore very suitable material for a drumstick in the broad sense and application.
Vic Firth 7A's have the following specifications:
- Diameter : 1,37 cm
- Instrument : drums
- Length (cm) : 39.37 cm
- Material : Hickory
- Material tip : wood
- Tip : teardrop
