Vic Firth Freestyle sticks are extra-long versions of the respective type. In this case it is a 5A stick that has an additional length of about two tips compared to the the regular version. This extra length of the Freestyle stick provides a significant amount of extra reach, but of course also a somewhat different balance.
Like the common Vic Firth 5A, the 5A Freestyle has a teardrop tip and is made of hickory; a hard, strong wood and therefore very suitable material for a drum stick in the broad sense and application.
