Tokai is a company with a history and a good story. The heyday and fame of Tokai goes back to the mid 80's / early 90's. The guitars from the Japanese company were immensely popular at the time because Fender and Gibson -according to many- were failing at the time; people started looking for alternatives from the likes of Ibanez, Yamaha and...Tokai.
For years there was no import into Europe from Tokai and the guitars have been off the radar for a long time making the brand develop as an iconic underground brand of status. The seasoned guitarist remembers quite how good these instruments were and still are.
So does this China-built SG58 with very serious specs for this price point such as; mahogany body, set one-piece maple neck, carbonized Jatoba fretboard with 12" radius, Tune-o-Matic bridge, Tokai's own high output humbuckers, 2 volume controls and 2 tone controls. This SG58 does exactly what you are looking for from an SG; pointed, biting, open and direct. Very nice guitar this!
