The Tascam Model 2400 is a 24-channel analog recording console and has a built-in multitrack recorder and audio interface. This allows you to use it in a wide range of studio and live applications. The Model 2400 has 22 inputs and 16 excellent-sounding microphone preamps - just what you need to build a good-sounding analog front end. Channels 1-12 each have a 1-button compressor and 3-band EQ, while onboard DSP provides you with additional effects, including master-bus processing. Plus, analog insert points ensure flawless integration of your external hardware. Comprehensive MIDI I/O and DAW transport control ensure seamless studio integration. You also get extensive measurement capabilities via Tascam's Meter Bridge software application.
The Model 2400 has 22 sturdy 100mm faders, an abundance of analog I/O with powerful routing options, +48-volt phantom power, an XLR talkback input and built-in Bluetooth streaming.
A complete 24-channel recording console
The Model 2400 includes 16 low-noise Ultra HDDA microphone preamps, so you can record sound sources with maximum fidelity and harmonic vividness. The Model 2400 includes compression and EQ per channel, along with insert points on channels 1-12 for seamless integration of your external hardware. You also get an analog insert on the master stereo bus to connect external mastering equipment. Lots of additional analog I/O is available, with as many as five auxiliary sends and four stereo subgroups, so you can create multiple monitor mixes without sacrificing an aux for effects. You can connect multiple sets of speakers for your reference monitoring. There's also an XLR microphone input for talkback.
Smart and convenient recording and mixing
The Model 2400 offers plenty of recording options, so you can record and mix everything from singer/songwriters and small groups to large orchestras and choral ensembles. The integrated multitrack recorder lets you record 24 channels (the 22 inputs plus the stereo master) of high-quality audio directly to an SD card. No need for a computer! The Model 2400 also feels right at home in a DAW-based recording setup, thanks to its built-in 24-in/22-out USB audio interface and dedicated HUI- and MCU-compatible DAW transport controls. Plus, in addition to the aforementioned compression and EQ per channel, the Model 2400 has digital effects on board, giving you DSP-driven master bus processing and studio-quality reverb, delay, chorus and more.
The centerpiece of your studio
Although the Model 2400 excels as a classic analog console, its built-in audio interface, DAW transport control and ample analog I/O ensure that it integrates seamlessly into modern production workflows. Thanks to the Model 2400's ability to send 22 tracks back from your DAW and through the console's own mixpad and processing, you'll also find that it handles analog summing tasks with complete confidence. Moreover, the Model 2400's extensive MIDI functionality lets you control drum machines, synthesizers and other hardware directly from your DAW software, sync your external modules to the tempo of your project and much more. You can also get extensive measurement capabilities through TASCAM's Meter Bridge software application on your Mac or PC. There is also a Bluetooth input with support for the AAC and SBC codecs, so you can effortlessly stream audio from your smart device.
