The Strymon Timeline is the ultimate delay pedal. The possibilities are almost endless and in that respect the Timeline is somewhat reminiscent of what happened when Line 6 released the legendary DM4. However, Strymon focuses on other things than just features and spectacular delay sounds. The built-in buffer that can be switched on and off, the possibility to connect other effects to the feedback loop, high-quality analog circuitry for the dry signal, super solid roadproof design...you can see, hear and feel that this product was developed with the professional musician in mind. Engineers, purists, nerds and guitarists have all worked on this and the results are truly impressive.
Read moreWith all the possibilities, this remains a tweakers pedal and a dream for the delay artist, but nevertheless Strymon has managed to design a reasonably simple user interface; even when you don't dive into the full depths of the Timeline you can quickly get all the delay sounds you could possibly think of where you can't possibly be inspired.
It costs a few cents, but when you consider how many different delay pedals you would need to cover even a small part of the scope of the Timeline and especially at this level of quality, it could cost you thousands of dollars. In that perspective, then, the Timeline can almost be called inexpensive!
