This practice pad is simple, but very handy and multifunctional; the pad has a thickened center dot and thus gives with respect to the outer edge a different feel and bounce. You can place the practice pad in front of you on a table, but because it is exactly 14" in diameter, it will also fit exactly on the snare drum if necessary. It then functions simultaneously as a dampening mat but you also get a little sound from the strings. That's good practice!
