This Sequential Prophet 6 analog synthesizer (by Dave Smith) is an insane analog synthesizer with the looks, sound and feel of the late 1970s and the capabilities of today. Even the controls are very reminiscent of its inspiration: the legendary Sequential Circuits Prophet 5! Very cool, because how often are these kinds of retro pushbuttons still found on new synthesizers where everything is controlled by LEDs and displays these days? This brand new Prophet 6 is for the serious sound-designer and keyboardist who are simply looking for the best and thickest sound for on stage or in the studio.
At its base, the Prophet is a six-voice polyphonic, fully analog synthesizer. There are two oscillators per voice, supplemented by a sub-octave oscillator and a noise oscillator. The classic waveforms are: sawtooth, square wave, triangle and pulse. Naturally me hard-sync for the necessary sonic variation! In addition to a 24 dB low-pass filter, there is also a 12 dB high-pass filter. The keyboard has 49 semi-weighted touch sensitive keys with aftertouch, it feels very professional and good. Please note, this Prophet 6 is not really a re-issue or replica of the P5! This 'P6' has MIDI, USB-MIDI and backlit pitch and modulation wheels. The sound combines the sound of yesteryear and the capabilities of today.
