The Sennheiser MM 445 is a high-enddynamic,supercardioid microphone head. Thanks to a lightweight aluminium-copper voice coil, this head provides a beautiful top end. The head is identical in construction to its predecessor, the MD 9235. The spring loaded capsule prevents handling noise. This separate microphone head can easily be mounted on a wireless handheld transmitter.
The MM 445 capsule gives a voice more clarity and presence, even on loud stages. Amongst sound engineers, the MM 445 and MM 435 microphones are the preferred choice for professional live and broadcast productions.
By default, a handheld transmitter is not always supplied with a microphone head. This system allows you to select and order the correct microphone head The Sennheiser MM capsules are only compatible with, among others, the SKM 300/500 G4 and SKM 2000/6000/9000 wireless handheld transmitters (sold separately). The capsule is easy to install.
What is also convenient about an interchangeable capsule is that you can change the microphone head if there is a specific application that requires a different head. So on a handheld transmitter you can use different microphone heads. On a small stage a dynamic microphone can sometimes work better than for example a sensitive condenser microphone. Or perhaps you prefer to use a microphone with a kidney characteristic (eg at a presentation). And for another application, you may prefer to switch to a super-kidney (e.g. if you suffer from crosstalk on a stage with a lot of monitor noise). The interchangeable capsule system thus allows you to choose between capsules with different levels of sensitivity and polarity patterns.
