The Sennheiser MKH 8030 figure-8 microphone allows you to capture clean sound over a wide frequency range in virtually any environment. The MKH 8030 is ideal for M-S, dual M-S and Blumlein stereo array recording opportunities or where the highest attenuation of neighboring sound sources is required. With its unique design, it offers superior sensitivity, wide frequency range and an ideal polar pattern, allowing you to capture sound as authentically as possible.
The MKH 8030 is one of the few small-diaphragm condenser microphones with a perfectly symmetrical figure-8 directional characteristic. Its small form factor and outstanding specifications make it the perfect sidekick to your other MKH 8000 series microphones. For example, create beautiful, realistic mid-side stereo recordings in combination with the separately available MKH 8040. The MKH 8030 is also suitable for close miking, both live and in the studio.
At the core of the microphone lies the RF capacitor principle, which interacts with a Push-Pull transducer. This interaction enables not only high humidity resistance, which is invaluable in demanding outdoor conditions, but also a fully floating and symmetrical output signal. The result is remarkable stability and reliability reflected in even the most complex sound recordings.
Modular Design:
The modular design consists of the MKH 8030 figure-8 microphone and the MZX 8000 XLR preamplifier module with fully floating, balanced output signal.
The MKH 8030 is also compatible with the MZD 8000 digital module.
Accessories:
An MZW 8030 foam windshield and MZQ 8000 microphone clamp are included. Also included is a pair of Rycote Back-to-Back microphone clips, ideal for adding an MKH 8040/8050 microphone to the MKH 8030 for e.g. mid-side or stereo recording.
