A natural 40Hz low-frequency cutoff prevents excessive boominess, and it's virtually impossible to overdrive the e609 because of its high sound pressure handling.
The e609 has a distinct character of its own. The bass is tight and punchy without being boomy, the mids are rich and the highs are present without sounding harsh.
