The Rode K2 is a large-diaphragm tube microphone with a number of unique features. One is the fully adjustable variable directional characteristic, which is unique among microphones. The K2 is widely applicable and produces a warm and full sound. Thanks to the tubes, the sound from this microphone is many times warmer than the sound from most condenser microphones.
The heart of the Rode K2 is a separate unit that comes with it. It supplies the 48 volts for the microphone and allows you to set all of the directional characteristics. The K2 comes in a nice case including a shockmount.
