Noise gate, the concept sounds too good to be true; a stomp box that filters out all your noise and crackles. Most of the time the practice is also too good to be true, to be honest. A lot of gates do filter out noise, but they don't preserve your tone and sustain, which makes them pretty much useless...

The G8 can be dailed-in very flexible and precisely with a separate control for release time (which you more or less fine-tune with the hold time) and a threshold setting. This makes the gate very flexible for both the rocker who wants to silence a noisy amp as for the typical, super stacato, mechanical metal riffs.
With both a regular input and output and a send & return connection, this gate is easy to use in front of the amp, an amp effects loop and to specifically gate noisy pedals.
