The Oberheim TEO-5 is the ultimate legacy of Tom Oberheim, fulfilling a vision for a powerful, flexible synthesizer with advanced, contemporary character packed into a powerful, portable design. This 5-note polyphonic synthesizer incorporates well-known Oberheim instruments such as the OB-X, Four Voice and the TVS.
The synthesizer has been refined and redesigned for the musician looking for a combination of vintage-derived analog character and modern feature set. Our Klundert Music synth freaks are absolutely thrilled with the breadth of the TEO-5, from its signature Oberheim effects and flexible ADSR envelopes to its many modulations and scorching thru-zero FM sound. Equipped with a polyphonic step sequencer, multimode arpeggiator, 44-note Fatar keyboard and robust connectivity options, this dual analog VCO powerhouse is nothing short of an exciting Oberheim synth!
What's in a name!
This synthesizer takes its name from the mind that created multidimensional magic: Thomas Elroy Oberheim. And true to the maestro himself, the TEO-5 excels in features! Envelopes are meticulously modeled after those of the OB-8, while the rich state-variable filter comes straight from the iconic SEM, driving unparalleled sonic sculptures via all-analog VCOs and VCFs, supercharging oscillators to rip through the mix with scorching thru-zero FM synthesis.
Two fat oscillators
At the base are two three-part oscillators that drive TEO-5's distinctive sound. Each of these oscillators features three pure waveforms ready to be deployed in the synthesizer's 5-note polyphony: triangle, sawtooth and pulse waves. Special sub-oscillators and noise generators expand TEO-5's tones, refined by the lowpass, highpass, notch and bandpass options of the SEM-inspired state-variable filter. By morphing and modulating through each filter, you can create dynamic, evolving tones, with options to switch filter use individually with each oscillator, sub-oscillator and noise generator, expanding your arsenal even further.
Vintage magic
Iconic Oberheim effects abound in TEO-5, matched with dual-digital dynamics that masterfully shape the synth's analog aesthetic. TEO-5 is equipped with a dedicated reverb suite and complemented by chorus, delay and other time-based effects, with detailed feedback shaping and depth controls to add dimension to your textures. To fully bring out the chemistry of TEO-5, carefully crafted emulations of Oberheim's acclaimed Phase Shifter and Ring Modulator are included to evoke the shimmering resonances, metallic machinations and harmonics! Modder fat all around!
Ready for your studio and stage
Whether you're laying down thick bass in the studio or playing a solo on stage, the TEO-5's 44-note Fatar keybed plays super fine. For multiple layers, a 64-step polyphonic sequencer is a key to unlimited ideas and melodic creativity, while the multimode arpeggiator offers a 3-octave range and a trio of repeat functions. If two hands, a pitch wheel and a mod wheel aren't enough to take advantage of the TEO-5's expressive and modulating capabilities, its versatile array of connections supports countless live and recording configurations. A trio of 5-pin MIDI in, out and thru ports is complemented by a MIDI-enabled USB-B port, footswitch input and pedal input, for seamless integration with DAWs and beyond.
