The first Nord Grand was, of course, already praised for its fantastic keyboard. Now with the Nord Grand 2, in collaboration with Kawai, they have made this keyboard even better to capture and handle your touch even better. This gives the Nord Grand the smooth, dynamic playing feel of a real acoustic grand piano. Because what you hear affects what you play, the 120-note polyphony ensures that every note played - and held - is heard, giving you a natural acoustic piano playing experience. Your playing technique will also benefit from the uncanny realism of the included Nord Triple Pedal with Dynamic Pedal Noise.

Kawai Responsive Hammer keybed with Ivory Touch
The Nord Grand's beautifully balanced and ultra-responsive triple-sensor Kawai keybed features a state-of-the-art mechanism that provides amazing control when you play percussive or pianissimo with smooth repetitions, where you don't fully lift the virtual hammers. The addition of textured Ivory Touch key surfaces gives the keyboard the authentic feel of an acoustic concert grand piano.

The piano section

The Nord Grand factory bank gives you a breathtaking collection of 10 Grands, nine Uprights, 10 Enhanced Electric Pianos, plus Clavinet, a selection of Digital Pianos, and more from the world-class Nord Piano Library - each instrument has been hand-selected for its unique characteristics. Nord's high-quality sampling techniques capture the nuances and character of these extraordinary instruments with stunning realism. You can replace all the sounds via the Nord Sound Manager. Nord's exclusive Piano Library is constantly updated with unique new premium sounds, and they are always available for free.

Advanced String Resonance

Nord's proprietary Advanced String Resonance enhances the sound of the Grand and Upright piano, reproducing the complex interaction of piano strings resonating at their fundamental and harmonic frequencies when other notes are played. Advanced String Resonance also perfectly reproduces the soft resonant ambience of a real piano when played with the sustain pedal engaged.

Triple pedal with dynamic pedal sounds

The Nord Grand comes with the amazing Nord Triple Pedal 2, which includes soft and sostenuto pedals in addition to a unique Dynamic Sustain pedal. The Triple Pedal also enables Nord's amazingly realistic Pedal Noise, which dynamically simulates the mechanical sounds of lifting and releasing the damper mechanism of an acoustic grand piano.

The Sample Synth section

The Nord Grand's Sample Synth section contains a wide palette of Strings, Brass, Synths, Choirs and many other high-quality sounds from the Nord Sample Library 3.0. This extensive selection includes the exclusively licensed sounds of the historic Mellotron and Chamberlin tape-based keyboard instruments.

With this new Grand 2, we have now also gained two sample layers that allow us to layer and mix different samples on top of each other with the LED guided faders. This in combination with the two piano layers we can finally create grand and powerful sounds or subtle and complex soundscapes.

As with the piano section, all sounds can be easily replaced via the Nord Sound Manager and with the large internal memory of 1Gb instead of 512Mb you can completely customize the Grand 2 to your liking.... The Sample Synth engine features essential controls for attack, decay/release and dynamics (filter/velocity); while dedicated category buttons provide quick navigation and patch selection.

Powerful Effects Section

The effects section of the Nord Grand 2 has received a major upgrade. In addition to a number of new effects, we've now gained more control over these effects to control subtlety or intensity. Especially for effects like chorus and flanger, this is of course a must have.
The amp simulations have also received a nice new feature in the form of an alternate tone setting. So with this you have functionally got 8 amp models instead of 4.
