Neural DSP's Quad Cortex processor is the latest generation of amp emulators that emulates the sound of your favorite amp almost identically. This compact and powerful floor processor is powered by Quad-Core SHARC DSP and Neural's proven sound modeling technology to give today's players a truly lightweight and compact device without compromising your tone.
By default, the Quad Cortex already has more than 50 amps, 1,000 cabs and 70 stomps serve as building blocks for creating your favorite rigs, along with a built-in performance looper. Download presets from the cloud for instant genre/artist inspiration - no computer required - or use Quad Cortex's Neural Capture to take your favorite studio sounds with you.
The Quad Cortex is also very easy and intuitive to operate through a 7-inch full-color touchscreen. With the 11 footswitches we switch between presets, scenes or effects, but with these we also control the parameters of just about everything we can adjust in the Quad cortex.
Quad Cortex also gives you configurable inputs and outputs, which can be stored independently for each of the two user presets, along with MIDI and audio via USB for producer-grade plug-and-play recorded tones. Believe it or not, but Quad Cortex is powerful enough to handle multiple amplifier chains and even multiple players simultaneously. So whether you're touring or tracking, both you and your bandmate can leave your amps at home when you have the Neural DSP Quad Cortex with you. Add to that firmware updates and user backups via Wi-Fi (again, you don't need a laptop), unlimited set lists and three modes of tone setup, and it's hard to overstate the impact the Neural DSP Quad Cortex processor can have on your performances.

Neural Capture digitizes your favorite amps, stomps and cabs
Do you have the world's best amps ready to go at home? Digitize them and take them on the road with Neural DSP's powerful Neural Capture feature. Unlike traditional capture models, Neural Capture uses machine learning to mimic the sophisticated interaction between amp, cab, pedal and player. Sagging, saturation, breakup, compression - it's all carefully captured from the sound source, directly into the Quad Cortex, so it can be used immediately. Neural Capture's perception is based on the human ear, not physical models, making it one of the most natural-sounding capture devices ever.Capture complete rigs or in parts
Neural Capture digitizes your favorite amps, cabinets and pedals down to the level of building blocks. Say you have a JCM Hot Mod that you can't live without, or a particularly smooth-sounding TS pedal that you want to boost other amps with. With the Quad Cortex, you can capture the entire rig or store just the amp or pedal as blocks, which can then be used to build signal chains in the same way as any other device from Neural's device list. Or capture the whole rig at once; amp, cab, boost or overdrive, and have the whole sound at the touch of a button at once.XLR mic preamps with 48-volt phantom power
You're not limited to just '57s when you capture amps with your Neural DSP Quad Cortex. Microphone preamps with XLR combo inputs and built-in 48-volt phantom power mean you can really experiment with microphone selection and placement.Or work, as many others also do, with external pre-amps or your interface's pre-amps and edit the signal a little more with DSP effects before you capture it to get that true studio sound.
Use it your way
One of the great advantages of the Quad Cortex is that it can be used in three different ways. In preset mode, scene mode and stomp mode.
Preset mode
Preset mode allows you to use the 8 navigation stomps to switch between different presets in a bank. This gives you the ability to have 8 completely different sounds in 8 completely different configurations. So it's like having 8 different Amps each with their own pedalboard.
Scene mode
With scene mode we actually zoom in a bit on one of your presets. This is a somewhat more natural way of looking at a guitar rig. You have one or two amps with a cab and as many effects as you want. The 8 stomps allow you to switch between different modes of your rig. Each parameter is separately assignable to this function so you can, for example, have the gain change per scene but all other settings of the amp remain the same. Or if you want all parameters of your amp, pedal or effect to change per scene, even that is possible. This gives you extreme sound possibilities within one preset and switching between scenes has no delay which means that your sound does not drop out.
Stomp mode
Stomp mode actually does exactly what it says. It lets the 8 stomp knobs turn effects on and off. In this way, your Quad Cortex becomes a sophisticated pedalboard with all your favorite pedals and effects. You assign which effects, pedals or amps go on which stomp and can even assign multiple effects at once for A -> B switching. This feature is also perfect for anyone who wants to use the Quad Cortex in a hybrid setup with an analog amp.
