The Neumann KH 150 is an active studio monitor with reference performance that is unprecedented for its compact size. This makes the KH150 ideal for both nearfield and midfield use in small to medium-sized studios. The new 6.5-inch woofer, the result of more than three years of intensive research and development, is integrated into a carefully designed 20-liter bass reflex cabinet, allowing this state-of-the-art monitor to achieve impressively deep and tight bass response up to 39 Hz and a maximum SPL of 118 dB. The specially designed 1-inch tweeter ensures transparent reproduction up to 21 kHz. These hi-end drivers, driven by 145W and 100W energy-efficient Class D amplifiers respectively and assisted by Neumann's MMD (Mathematically Modeled Dispersion) waveguide, deliver very high accuracy, with wide sweetspot and minimize annoying desk reflections.
DPS
DSP-powered electronics provide highly advanced features, such as ensuring phase linearity for a tight soundstage and facilitating calibration using the advanced MA1 (Automatic Monitor Alignment) system. Whether you use the KH 150 in a stereo pair or in combination with other KH Series speakers for immersive surround monitoring, what you hear is what you get. The KH 150 enjoys the same design philosophy as all Neumann studio monitors: smooth linearity, extremely low distortion, no coloration and smooth integration into any acoustic environment. This allows you to make critical recording and mixing decisions with confidence, knowing that your mixes translate perfectly to the world outside your studio.
Ready for any acoustic space
The interface between the studio monitors and the room is critical, and it becomes even more important as you turn up the volume. Even the best studio monitors can only be as accurate as the acoustics of the room allow. The MMD waveguide has an extended sweet spot, while reflective rebound from your console or desk is ignored. But smart high-tech monitors like this KH 150 can do much more to reduce or even eliminate room/acoustics problems. The KH 150's internal DSP is perfectly integrated with Neumann's (optional) MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment system to optimally adjust your monitors to the acoustics of your room and accurately calibrate them for your preferred listening position. We at Klundert Music continue to be amazed at the unprecedented improvement this MA1 kit brings.
Suitable for all styles of music
With its powerful bi-amp amplifier, advanced limiters, tight low-frequency performance and high SPL capabilities, the KH 150 is a perfect studio monitor for both EDM, metal, rock and urban genres, as well as for e.g. film scores and all applications where bass and/or larger volumes are monitored. The sound image remains very coherent, even at high SPLs. But the KH 150 is equally adept at revealing the small subtleties of a classical piece or an acoustic jazz performance. Its universal versatility also makes it a perfect monitor for broadcast, ADR and voice-over work. The KH 150 is an absolute technical masterpiece. Gear up, with these Neumann KH150s !
