The Talk Box is truly a unique effect! You'll recognize the sound in many classic and modern hits from artists like Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and Daft Punk.
The Talkbox itself is not actually an effect, but a mini-speaker with a tube connected, which runs your keyboard or guitar sound to your mouth, allowing you to use your mouth as a sound box. This gives you the typical Talkbox vocal effect, from wah wah, ya ya ya to "California Love" by Dr. Dre ! The MXR M222 is based on the original Talkbox concept from the 1960s.
Inside its metal housing, the MXR M222 has its own amplifier and speaker. The pedal is easy to mount on your pedalboard. And do you use it table top? Then you can stick the included rubbers underneath and it will stand firmly on the table. With the volume, tone and gain pots you can adjust the effect to your own taste.
