The Milab DC-96C studio condenser microphone is a small, professional studio condenser microphone. This microphone has a fixed cardioid polar pattern.
The DC-96C is built around the latest version of Milab's rectangular capsule (the 2900). Its rectangular capsule makes this microphone ultra compact and small to build. Very practical if you need to discreetly conceal this microphone (e.g. in a live sound application with orchestra or for a TV broadcast).
A fine feature of the 2900 microphone capsule is its wide off-axis response. Due to the capsule design, the microphone has -horizontally viewed- a very wide, consistent reproduction. While seen vertically, the sound is actually somewhat slightly attenuating. Ideal for reducing annoying indirect noise from a ceiling or floor.
This side-addressed large diaphragm microphone is designed for studio work, but is also excellent for all kinds of live applications. The original DC-96 was released in the late 1960s. In 1983, it was replaced by the updated DC-96B that would become one of the most iconic Milab models. The "C" version features Milab's latest capsule and amplifier technology to ensure that the DC series remains at the top of its game.
The DC-96C is suitable for a wide range of applications, including studio vocals, acoustic guitar and piano, hi-hats and overheads, guitar amps and more.
