The Classic Maple has been the professional standard within the Ludwig collection for 20 years. Keeping with the rich Ludwig tradition and distinctive sound, the Classic Maple is hand built in Monroe, USA and is a versatile and reliable all-around player.
The shells of the of the Classic Maple consist of 7 layers of maple and are 6mm thick. Ludwig USA uses the traditional press molds from the 60's and uses high frequency resonance to distribute the glue between the layers 100% evenly. This is the unique Radio Frequency Shell Technology (this technique is similar to "tapping" a poured concrete floor). The shells are milled with a 45-degree bearing edge and a 1/16" rounding on the outside. It is then hand-sanded for a perfectly flat result.

This 3-piece FAB22 shell kit consists of a 22x14" bass drum, 13x9" tom and 16x16" floortom and features a super fat, retro Pink Oyster dura-wrap (not available as standard!).
All hardware is heavy-duty with padded lugs and bass drum claws. All mounts (floortom legs and tomholder) use the convenient Atlas mount. The tomholder / clamp-mount for mounting the 13" tom is included.
