Having worked with the copper shells on timpanis for 100 years, Ludwig has a gorgeous copper snare available in the USA collection as well. This 1.2mm thin shell gives lots of volume and dark complex tones with lots of low and mid-end!
The seamless copper shell gives a lot of body with great articulation due to the strong frequency response in the mid range. This total package of ingredients creates the warm dry but very characteristic sound of the copperphonic snare.
This "Raw Patina" is our favorite version; the patina treatment gives the snare a beautiful aged look and combined with the traditional Imperial Lugs, this is truly a jewel of a snare drum!
