HK Audio Linear 5 MKII 118 Sub A gives you power
With an 18-inch woofer and an amplifier with an RMS power of up to 1000W, this Linear 5 MKII 118 Sub A provides a maximum sound pressure level of up to 130 dB. A real powerhouse. It has a strong enclosure made of birch plywood. This material has excellent acoustic properties. The HK Audio Linear 5 MKII 118 Sub A is finished with black acrylic enamel and has a grille of 2 mm thick metal with black acoustic foam behind it.
The top of the sub has an M20 thread for inserting an intermediate pole for a top cabinet.
Cardioid setup
Sometimes it's a bit tricky to quickly create a cardioid setup with subwoofers. But with this HK Linear 5 MKII 118 Sub A, that's a thing of the past. That's because this subwoofer has two presets for cardioid applications. With just the push of a button, you switch these on the back of the 118 Sub A. With a cardioid setup, the bass pressure level at the rear of the speaker is reduced by up to 34 dB. This reduces sound pressure on stage. And as a bonus, the level increases by just under 2 dB at the front.
