The Heil Sound PR 22 UT is the "Utility" version of the well-known PR-22. This PR 22 UT possesses exactly the same features as the PR 22, but has fewer accessories.
The PR 22 UT offers superior clarity, articulation and frequency response that Heil is known for compared to standard microphones. The microphone has a specially designed internal mount to reduce handling noise. The result is professional-quality sound for live sound, podcasting and recording.
The PR22UT is very similar to the PR 20; the main difference is that the PR 22 uses a Sorbothane damping system in the microphone's housing to reduce handling noise at 60-100Hz. According to Bob Heil, manufacturers of other live vocal microphones roll off the response below 125Hz to dampen handling noise - but lose musical sound at the same time.
Like the rest of the Heil line microphones, the PR22 has no output transformer. The voice coil itself provides a balanced output. Heil Sound microphones are made in the USA and carry the Klundert Music 5-year warranty!
