The Heil PR 22 Gold is the dynamic vocal microphone in the color gold. This PR 22 offers superior clarity, articulation and frequency response that Heil is known for compared to standard microphones. The PR 22 is very similar to the PR 20; the main difference is that the PR 22 uses a Sorbothane damping system in the microphone housing to reduce handling noise at 60-100Hz. According to Bob Heil, manufacturers of other live vocal microphones roll off the response below 125Hz to dampen handling noise - but lose musical sound at the same time.
