Master luthier Jimmy D'Aquisto was asked to make the top model within Hagstrom's jazz collection. This cooperation resulted in the HJ800. A vintage sounding hollowbody guitar with a slightly higher output. This makes the HJ800 very versatile.
The HJ800 specs; solid(!) spruce top, maple side and back, 2x Custom 58 humbuckers, maple neck and the Hagstrom resonator fingerboard.
For the development of the necks, Hagstrom went back to the drawing board; the maple neck has a "Resinator" fingerboard. This is a composite wood that has all the sound and color characteristics of ebony (which we usually find on more luxurious guitars), but offers a superior density, uniformity and especially stability. In addition, every Hagstrom has the unique "H-Expander" trussrod; an H-shaped neck pin that is extremely stiff but also very light.
Hagstrom understands that the bottleneck for guitars in this pricerange is often the neck. Instability leads to decreased playing comfort and regular tuning or in the worst case protruding frets due to a shrinking fingerboard. Nothing like that with a Hagstrom!
And this one turned out very well, chic sunburst with a flame back and sides. A real eye-catcher.
