The Scarlett 18i16 is an 18-in/16-out USB 2.0 audio interface for Mac, PC and iPad. The Scarlett 18i16 is the best friend of any producer, audio engineer or musician who wants to work with many sources simultaneously. Whether you need to record an acoustic drum kit, or just want to keep all your instruments permanently connected, the 18i16 4th Gen is the powerhouse you've been looking for.

The additional ADAT in and output allows you to expand your setup with even more pre-amps or line sends. This gives you up to 18 inputs at 48kHz samplerate that can record simultaneously. The local in and ouputs also make it possible to add outboard gear such as compressors, pre-amps, eq's and effects as inserts to your workflow.

Four pre-amps

Connect your studio to 18i16's 4th generation preamps - Scarlett's highly transparent and detailed pre-amps. 69dB gain range provides all the headroom you need to get the best results from the most intense multi-track recordings. Control preamp levels from anywhere in the studio with the Focusrite Control 2 apps, giving you the freedom to adjust settings remotely.

Auto Gain and Clip Safe.

Let the 18i20 control your levels. Auto Gain instantly sets all eight microphone preamp levels, and Clip Safe keeps them in the right place by automatically adjusting the gain if you're in danger of clipping. That way you'll never lose a take again.

Air

Presence mode boosts the high-end of your signal, putting sound at the front of the mix. Create intimate vocal recordings, capture every detail of acoustic guitars and hear your drum overheads shimmering.

The Presence and Harmonic Drive modes amplify harmonics in the midrange of your sound, letting its uniqueness shine through the mix. Try it on guitars, vocals or anything else that needs a little more punch.

Huge 122 dB dynamic range for incredible recordings.

Scarlett delivers incredible audio quality, with converters sourced directly from our flagship RedNet interfaces - as found in high-end studios around the world.

All the software you need to make a hit record.

Once you've gotten started with Ableton Live Lite, three months of Pro Tools Artist or six months of FL Studio Producer Edition recording software (all included), the Hitmaker Expansion bundle provides everything you need to give your songs a big studio sound, with an unbeatable array of studio tools for making records from the biggest names in the business.
