The Postmodern collection offers a choice of guitars not necessarily affiliated with one pre-CBS build or period but offer a blend of vintage features with improved ergonomic and sonic features. This Postmodern Strat has a two-piece alder body, a "rift sawn" maple neck and round-laminated rosewood fingerboard. The neck has a '59 D-shaped profile and the contoured neck heel provides extra playing comfort and reach higher on the neck. The fingerboard has a compound radius from 9.5" to 12" and 21 narrow tall frets.
The pickups are a trio of Dual Mag II hand wound single coils. This Custom Shop pickup features a mix of alnico 2 and 5 magnets and an overwound coil. They give lots of output, bandwidth a headroom. The three single coils -with reversed wound / reversed polarity middle pickup- are wired in the traditional 5-position circuit. The bridge is a Custom Shop vintage synchonized tremolo and the tuners are vintage "Kluson-style."
Fender's Custom Shop luthiers have mastered the craft of applying the aged, relic'te look like no other. This Postmodern Strat has a subtle "Journeyman Relic" finish with "Closet Classic" hardware.
The sound of this Strat is warm and fat with a very pleasant mid character that provides a fine, warm definition when playing clean and a creamy edge when overdriving the amp.
Included is the deluxe, original Fender case, matching accessories and, of course, the certificate.
