The quest for that one unique vintage instrument has probably become impossible; the vintage Fenders that are still in out there an which are good and original are often priceless. On top of that, it is questionable whether you would want to actually play with such collector's items!
And in that respect, Fender Custom Shop offers the ultimate solution; all the sound, look, feel and vibe of authentic Fender guitars, without the worries about playability, damage or wear (and therefore value reduction) and -relative to the pricing of vintage guitars- in a realistic price range.
This Fat 50's Strat, as part of the Limited Edition collection, is only available for a short time. Not only does Fender have a knack for releasing extremely attractive guitars like no other, but because of the exclusivity, these LTD's are a solid investment as well.
This Strat has a two-piece select alder body, a 1954 soft-V shaped, rift sawn maple neck as one piece with maple fingerboard and skunkstripe, a radius of 9.5" and 21 jumbo 6100 frets.
The pickups are hand-wound Custom Shop Fat 50's single coils with reversed wound/reversed polarity middle pickup and the traditional 5-position switching with Fat 50's wiring. The bridge is a Custom Shop vintage synchonized tremolo and the tuners are vintage "Kluson-style."
Fender's Custom Shop luthiers have mastered the craft of applying the aged, relic'te look like no other. This Limited Edition features a tasteful "Relic" finish and hardware in which the discoloration of the Seafoam Green in particular stands out, turning it slightly to Surf Green. The weight of this strat is 3.39 kg / 7.47 lbs.
As its name suggests, this is a guitar that celebrates the best of the 50s; a Strat with no fuss and that typical, bright spanky tone. This particular example is super musical and inspiring with a "vocal" tone, good sustain and fine balance in requency response. The soft V-shaped neck (you barely feel that V-shape by the way!) plays very comfortably and easy in the hands.
Included is the deluxe, original Fender case, matching accessories and, of course, the certificate.
