In the line of SB models at Eastman, the SB57 is the muscular brother of the SB56 and is based on the iconic Black Beauty; a fully solid single cut (non weight relief, though we can assure; not nearly as heavy as the classic LP Custom!), with double bound body, neck and headstock. Black, of course, but in Eastman's Antique Varnish finish; an aged finish with a Black over Cherry relic treatment. The black finish has a see-through look which makes the flame maple top visible: gorgeous! All rock 'n roll.
The SB57 is made of a one-piece mahogany body with a single arched maple top, mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard. The pickups are Custom Wound Imperial aged humbuckers by Lollar with standard LP wiring and sound remarkably open and are friendly in tone. Eastman uses only the best parts; Jescar fretwire, CTS pots, Switchcraft connectors and switches and Gotoh tuners. The finish and details-as with any Eastman-are nothing short of exceptional at this price point.
