The E-series / Traditional Series by Eastman are all based on the iconic steelstring guitar from the "pre war golden-era". And so, you'll find the traditional body shapes like dreadnoughts, OM's, OOO's and OO's only for this series.
The E8OM has a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Rosewood back and side, 3-piece mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and hand carved scalloped X-bracing; a package of hi-end specs mixed with the compact OM body results in a good balance of richt bass and crispy top-end. This makes the E8OM a great hybride guitar that can handle both delicate fingerstyle playing as well as flatpicking. It is indeed very similar to the iconic OM21 or OM28 specification-wise, so at this pricepoint, we consider the E8OM to be the ultimate bang-for-a-buck!
Eastman has been using "Thermo Cured" tops for some time on their higher-end guitars. This is a process where the top wood is being forced to driy by heat to aquire a more resonant and dynamic sound; Thermo Cured tops sound like the guitar has been played for a long time and had is fair share of resonance. Additionally, this treatment gives the spruce a realy nice, darker, antique look.
The guitar comes including the original hardcase and certificate.
