Dingwall's "Ready to Play" collection (made in China, assembled and completed in Canada) features three models; the Combustion, Combustion NG and D-Roc. The mighty D-Roc is perhaps the cooles and sexiest bass on the markte today...at least, we think so! There is no hiding behind where Dinwall got their inspiration for this model; many other guitar companies went down the road of re-making or copying the iconic Firebird bass, but when Dingwall does it, it's just a notch up and they really managed to create a mature, 2.0 version. The contour of the body is a bit different and so is the headstock, but you have to admit; this model, this bodyshape with the unmistakable Dingwall 3-pickup configuration and multiscale frets is just bad ass! And it is FINALLY available as a 5-string!
The D-Roc is a no-nonsense bass for sure. It features passive electronics with a volume control, tone control and a 4-way pickup switch for the 3 Dingwall FD-3n pickups; bridge, bridge + middle parrallel, middle and all pickups combined (oh lord!!). The body is made of mahogany, the neck is a 3-piece maple neck with a pau ferro fingerboard and despite the substantial size of this bodyshape, the D-Roc is always remarkably lightweight!
As a 5-string bass, the D-Roc has a multi-scale of 34-37" respectively. And as everything about this bass suggests, the D-Roc is an insane rock bass; fat, full and super tight in tone. What you see is what you get + a splash of character! Available in a variety of unique finishes and includes a deluxe Dingwall gig bag.
