The guitars of D'angelico are inspiring in every way. In the first place they are beautiful to look at, but apart from all that, D'angelico more than lives up to all expectations in terms of sound and quality!
The New York based luthier has a rich history and is famous for their iconic jazz boxes. However, in the current collection of D'angelico you'll also find a wide range of solidbody guitars.
Like the Atlantic from the Deluxe series; rockers, eat your heart out! A very comfortable single-cut with the classic yet contemporary 30's inspired design that is so recognizable for D'angelico. The Atlantic will probably be compared to classic LP-style guitars but the specifications are quite different
The only similarities are the 24.75" scale, HH pickup configuration and Tune-O-Matic stoptail. Furthermore, this guitar is really different with a body (flat top) made of alder, a 3-piece C-shaped neck is made of maple / rosewood / maple and with an ebony fingerboard with 14" radius and Jescar Nickel / Silver frets. The elements are a set of Seymour Duncan Seth Lover humbuckers with coil split on the tone pots.
All this makes the Atlantic a very rich sounding and fat rocker with a character that balances perfectly on the line of a traditional and modern tone; while the alder clearly provides a freshness and the ebony fingerboard contributes to directness, the fatness and crunch comes from the Seth Lovers and the (relatively) short scale.
Comes complete with original hard case.
