The BOSS RE-202 is a Space Echo pedal with roots in the 1974 RE-201. This RE-202 offers the authentic sound and behavior of the Space Echo, from the magnetic tape and motor features to the vibrant spring reverb and colorful pre-amp circuit. But a host of new features also clothe this unit, making this pedal perfect for today's music as well.
While previous BOSS designs captured the true flavor of sound and essential characteristics of the Space Echo, new developments allow it to go even deeper. This pedal reproduces the full, complex, non-linear behavior that was the character of the RE-201.
All the controls of the original are present such as the iconic 12-position mode switch. Also, the gradual pitch change when you adjust the Repeat Rate, the cool runaway feedback when you turn up the Intenstity knob to the max, and the Wow & Flutter control work so that you can recall all the natural modulation characteristics.
Despite looking closely at the past, this pedal is totally ready for the future. With a doubled delay time, tap tempo control and a new Twist function. Full stereo I/O is also available and you can connect external footswitches or expression pedals.
