The FS-5U activates its assigned function as long as it is pressed, while the FS-5L switches its assigned function on or off each time you press it. Thus, the pedal works on a light switch principle: the first press is on, the second press is off
Because the FS-5L features a polarity switch, which reverses the on/off state, it is compatible with just about any device with footswitch input. See also the FS-5U pedal, which turns on only as long as you hold it down. If necessary, attach multiple FS-5L/U's together via the tongue-and-groove connections.
