The third addition to the Blackstar Dept. 10 series Amped floor format amplifiers is -what's in a name- the Amped 3, a 100-Watt 3 channel high gain amp pedal. The ultra compact, stand-alone amp 3 programmable channels with Boost and Reverb. With the integrated Class-D 100 watt poweramp, you can hook it up directly to a cabinet with a power reduction feature that goes down to 20 or 1W.
The pre-amp of the Amped 3 features clean, crunch and overdrive channels, each can be set to two voicings (e.g. crunch / super crunch), 6 in total. Each channel has independently controlable gain, volume and EQ settings and can be fully programmed and saved as pre sets, along with the boost and reverb settings.
The master / poweramp has presence and master controls and can be set to three distinctive powertube responses (EL84, EL34 or 6L6).
The Amped 3 has two switching modes: ‘Patch’ mode and ‘Manual’ mode. By default, the Amped 3 will be in Patch mode to be used as a programmable preset device. The mode can be changed by holding the Boost footswitch for 2 seconds (the default start-up mode can be configured using Blackstar’s Architect software).
In patch or preset mode, all front panel controls except those for Master and Powersetting, will be saved in a patch. In Manual mode, what you see is what you get; the sound of the amplifier is affected by the physical position of the controls at all times
The Amped 3 features full connectivity according to modern standards. You name it, Amped 3 has got it; go direct into FOH, use it as a pre-amp in the front end of a traditional amp or fully integrate it into your pedalboard. It has instrument level in /out, FX send / return and a 500mA powersupply. For home recording and practice purposes, it has a balanced output, line output, headphones output (with speaker simulation) and USB connectivity with integrated interface which you can use it to go directly into your DAW as well. Finaly, the Amped 3 can be fully remote controlled by Midi.
