The Austrian Audio CC8 Stereo Set, with two CC8 microphones, two folding caps, two microphone clamps, a t-bar and carrying case. These products are all good quality but you probably come here for more information about the microphone. We got you!
The Australian Audio CC8 is a hand-built small diaphragm, cardioid, condenser microphone from Vienna. The heart of this microphone is the OCC7 condenser capsule. The inspiration for this capsule is the legendary CK1. As a result, the OCC7 capsule delivers all the benefits of a classic design enhanced with an extra layer of innovation to meet today's expectations. Austrian Audio says it best themselves, this microphone was created by the past and built for the future.
The CC8 sounds great. Even at extreme volume, the microphone sounds open and natural. The mids and highs do not sound exaggerated and clear. This makes the CC8 an ideal candidate for recording mainly acoustic instruments.
On the microphone itself you have the option to enable -10 and -20 dB pads when using the mic with extremely loud sources such as drums, and it is possible to enable a high-pass filter of 60 or 120 Hz. This is ideal when your source does not need to reproduce sub information, or when you use these mics as overhads and want to filter out the low-end of the kick and floortoms even before the pre-amp.
