The AlphaTheta Wave Eight is a compact 8-inch, full range speaker with built-in battery and low-latency bluetooth functionality. Bluetooth is already known from other PA speakers, but the problem is often the delay (latency). For real DJ work, you can't use sound delay; floor monitors (booth outputs) exist for a reason. That's where AlphaTheta (thanks to its experience with its Pioneer DJ brand, of course) has a smart solution. Thanks to SonicLink technology (that technology is more like Wifi than bluetooth), the sound is sent from the source to these speaker(s) without noticeable latency (9 ms). Each speaker comes with a SonicLink box, so you can also connect to equipment without bluetooth via an RCA cable.
In the new AlphaTheta Omnis Duo (and in the future in many new gear from AT) that box is already built in, totally convenient. But you can also use your Pioneer DJ gear to send sound wirelessly to the Wave Eight speaker(s) without delay.
The Wave Eight is equipped with a powerful battery, which allows you to play for about 8 hours. For a full charge (turned off), you need about 4 hours (of course, it is wise to always carry a power cord as a backup). So an afternoon at the beach or in your garden is perfectly fine for musical entertainment without a 230V connection. You can wirelessly combine multiple speakers, depending on the size of your party. And thanks to the intuitive sound modes, which you set with one simple switch, you'll always find the right music vibe right away. The speaker also features a low-cut setting, so you can work with a separate subwoofer if necessary. And thanks to built-in wheels and a pull-out handle, it's easy to take it anywhere, too.
