Following on from the Keeley Custom 10, the Keeley Custom 12 is its bigger brother with a 12" Celection Creamback speaker. The idea is very simple; a simple traditional and fully analog tube amp as the perfect pedal platform. And to crystallize that concept -however simple- Supro has joined forces with pedal icon Robert Keeley
The result is a beautifully balanced amplifier with a warm and clear clean sound. The tone control - despite only being 2-fold - works very actively and partly because of this this this amp is so good to match with effect pedals. In addition, you will find a pre-amp volume and a master volume and by making a specific mix with this you can also overdrive the amp a bit (although this goes a bit beyond the purpose set by Supro of course)
The power amplifier is based on a duet 6V6 tubes in class-A operation and provides a power of about 25 watts. The amplifier has more than enough headroom and is not deafeningly loud. Actually just right; loud enough to remain intelligible within a band but also soft enough to play nicely at home
With an eye on the "pedal platform" concept, a well-buffered effects loop has not been left out; where most effects will simply be placed in front of the pre-amp, you use the effects loop for effects that are better suited to the sequence after the pre-amp (such as delays, reverb, sometimes modulation effects or boosters)
