The Korg SV-2 has a huge sample memory of several gigabytes, which particularly benefits the acoustic piano. The SV-2 accommodates as many as four top-class concert grand pianos (German Grand, Austrian Grand, Italian Grand and Japanese Grand) and two pianos (Japanese Upright and German Upright). By using the latest sampling technologies and the SV-2's large internal memory, the sounds are in no way inferior to their acoustic models.
The same, of course, applies to all the SV-2's other sounds, including numerous legendary electric piano models (reed, tine, FM, electro-mechanical, etc.) including authentic reproductions of the typical accompaniment sounds, as well as proper vintage effects and stompbox simulations. Using the free editing software for Mac and PC, layer and split sounds can be composed with up to three different timbres (e.g. piano/bass split with an additional string layer) and saved as one of 64 favorite sounds. Thanks to the extensive polyphony of 128 voices, long-held, wide chords are no problem, even when using multiple layers.
